Can you use fence panels to build a floating deck?

I was thinking we could use 8x6 fence panel or two for a floating deck, was just going to add extra supports.

Hi. It would require a lot of support. Typically decking is fairly thick to accommodate the weight of people, etc.
I actually tried this years ago. I discovered that the wood on the fence panel does not really support much on top (table, chairs, people) You will need a lot of extra support from underneath. If this is an outdoor floating deck you might also consider the climate. If the wood fencing has not been treated the wood might warp over time. Mine is still in use and it has been there for ten years (12x12 area). Best of luck
The wood is likely not thick enough to handle any weight on it as it's built to stand vertically without people and things weighing down on it. You could double them up maybe.
