How to create a walkway to pool and area for trained herb garden?

Create a planting area for my herb and veggies. I have 2 raised beds.but the area needs a lot of help. Also a walkway to the pool.

A pic is worth a 1000 words they say.. Can you post a pic of area and that might prompt some very detailed and/or helpful suggestions for you.
I'd put bark in between and add concrete steps to and from pool
I love every picture. All take work but WOW what a wonderful result,
herbs do not like rich soil so please keep this in mind
