Any ideas for a Floating deck and heavy BBQ pit?

Going to build a floating deck with tin roof in the back yard. One end will have my 250 pound BBQ pit. Looking for ways to support the pit so it does not "push" that end of the deck into the ground. I would like to have the pit on the wood. Any ideas?

Me too. It will be a while but, I like to plan early. I appreciate the link to the Home Depot article on floating deck building. I have that part down...just not sure how to support the BBQ pit so, it does not push that end of the deck into the ground.
I'm guessing some type of cement footer? Not sure how big they need to be, or, if 4x4 or other large lumber could do the trick. The pit footprint is about 2' x 4'. I live close to Houston Texas so, we have thick clay soil about 2 foot down.
