Make a small fenced area with solid vinyl fencing. It looks nice, will last a long time and will hide them away. Just make sure to make the fenced area is large enough to access all of your cans and the gate is large enough to maneuver the cans in and out.
We have a pergola and on one side of the front part my husband built a lattice panel (which makes a sort of L shaped area (if viewed from the sky.) actually this was built before the pergola so we could have a place to string clotheslines and to hide our trash cans. Has worked for over 40 years.
