Pallet cut into with about three slats, then make another cut the same dimensions, use a slat across bottom and another slat cut in length of the three slat piece of pallet, this is your sides.Screw together with wood screws ,paint the color you desire adhere under window .
If you have scrap wood: select boards the depth you want [top to bottom], measure out the length you want/need & cut 2 pieces [these are the 'sides' of the box. Figure out how deep you want the box from front to back & cut 2 pieces [these are the 'ends' of the box]. nail the 'ends' onto the sides [forming a box with no bottom or top], now, measure the inside 'empty space' of the 'box' that is formed [length & width of the empty space only] cut a board to fit 'inside' that space & nail it in place all the way around 'the box' shape. Congratulations! you have now made a planter box! Now you can build one that you can hang from a hook by drilling a hole in the middle of each 'end,' & run a wire through the holes so you can hang it!
