There are many different ways to make outdoor firepits, so it really depends on what you are looking for. Do you want it above ground? In the ground? How big? Do you want a patio around it? How much do you want to spend? I would check out pinterest for some ideas so you have a general idea of what you want and then go from there!

Hi Shirley, here's one idea, you don't have to do a whole patio for it, but I would advise that you put sidewalk blocks inside the bottom of the pit to keep it from scorching the ground and igniting any peat that may be there
