It's fairly simple, Yvonne. You'll need to find a concrete mold in the shape and size of the stones you want. (There are bunches of choices in stores and on the internet.) Depending on the kind of look you want, choose your concrete. (There are finer grades and coarser grades plus some that set very fast and such.) Get the person at the hardware store to help you choose. You can also color your stones with concrete dyes, so consider that, too. Then set up your work area, get out your grungiest clothes and (don't forget to wear gloves!) get ready to mix, pour and set. Once each piece is solid, you can carefully remove it from the mold so it can dry completely and you can do another casting. Always preplan because you want to buy the right amount of material for as many stones as you'll need. Have a fun time DIY-ing!

Find something to use as a mold such as a baking pan. Pour in a layer of concrete filling about half the pan. Cut up some coat hangers and twist them together. Lay them on top of the concrete and fill the rest of the pan. Stir the concrete to remove any air pockets being careful not to jostle the hangers too much.

You can buy inexpensive plastic forms to pour in concrete, let it set, and remove them to place where you want them. It takes a little time, but they really have quite a choice of shapes and sizes now. Also, you can add color to the concrete if you like. Hope this helps Yvonne!
