How do you make an in ground fire pit?

Bought a fire pit and it rusted and fell apart after one year and I would really like an in ground pit that would last a few years or longer

There are quite a few DIY fire pit posts here on Hometalk! Just type in fire pits under Explore Projects above and you'll find the tutorials.
Make a hole in the ground about 20" larger in diameter than your desire fire pit. Cover the entire surface of the hole with clay bricks, bond together with cement. Make sure to extend the bricks above ground and as wide as two brick around the mouth of the fire pit. Decorate as desire.
