How to have privacy, yet being able to see the outside?
My bedroom is on the main floor and has a patio door that opens to the front yard where I have my flower and vegetable garden which I enjoy looking at. particularly when the birds, the squirrels, and other mammals are benefitting from.
However, there is a moderately busy sidewalk just pass my little garden, where people easily see into my bedroom.
Although, I have installed a fence between my garden and the sidewalk, but it's only 3' high as allowed by the municipality, which doesn't help with the privacy, especially when my bedroom is 2' above the ground anyway!
Does anyone has any idea how to create privacy without loosing my view of the garden, and also without compromising beauty.
Thank you for reading,
Bahiyyih

Lace curtains give you the privacy you require but still let in the light and you can see through them while those outside cannot.
One possibility is to have someone put a privacy tint on the window. This is even a job you might be able to do yourself.
Bahiyyih, you have nurtured a treasure. You should be able to enjoy it. But you must also be cautious. Here are a few ideas for you to consider. On the patio door, place Contact paper over the glass, in one of several patterns designed to let in light but obscure visibility. On the bedroom windows, even if you have drapes, install twice as many panels as usual of sheers. During the day, double sheers would let the sunlight in. You could pull one or two panels back while you are watching nature. Be modest, use discretion, and enjoy life. For the long haul, plant tall shrubs about four feet out from your window. Prune the branches and trim the leaves so that your eyes have a large enough space to see the garden, but from the sidewalk, people’s view of you would be unlikely if not impossible. Enjoy yourself!☺️
