How to make a removable wind/rain barrier for my unscreened porch?
Strays stay on my front porch I have 3 posts, no rails or screens. Would like to block rain and maybe reduce wind in winter - we get strong storms in my area. Would prefer not to block sun as it adds warmth when cold. Elderly and on fixed income but thought about rail with windows that could be raise or slid, Would do shutters but too dark and no sun. Removable would be good but do not know if plexiglas would work and it is kind of pricey for my budget

I would try clear showercurtains you could slide aside when sunny then close with Velcro when raining
Second Kathy's suggestion, or strong magnets. Thank you for taking care of the strays :)
JMO. I think your ferals would benefit more from insulated cat houses than porch modifications. Theyre not hard to make. You can even heat them if you choose. Also a large heated water dish is nice. I have one for my ferals.

If you still want to enclose your porch I would check with a local window company to see if they would let you have the old windows they take out when they put in new windows. Lots of people want the old wood ones but nobody wants the old vinyl ones.
We have the same thing. We used heavy duty plastic and staples it on. I was concerned about light too but it made it warmer.
It made like a green house effect.
Youll need to keep a space open for them to come in and out.
Good luck!
