I need a quick easy way to build a fire pit in my yard
Seating is also a concern as well as something that will endure through rains and storms in Southwest Florida.

I've seen concrete blocks that are made for this at the big box stores. They are slightly tapered to make a natural curve.
HI Wayne,
The easiest and most economical would be probably stacked wall pavers as mentioned above with some cut log seating. I have included a few images to get your mind going and yes some of them are not on the easy side but would last through a storm for sure.
and a youtube for one under $100

32 to 39 bricks and mortar, you place these in layers:
7 in a septagon as the firepit base
7 in a septagon, rotating to maintain stability
6 in a semiseptagon
5 in a semiseptagon
4 in a semiseptagon
3 in a semiseptagon
And as you can imagine this is like a miniature subdivided brick oven without the smokestack.
As far as seating, you can do same as above, 2 per bench, with a stack behind them or these can be simple brick and mortar and concrete, you add the concrete slab last over brick and mortar stacks [that look like mini smokestacks] made of 7 levels of 4 or 6 bricks each level.
I just saw this - unique but definitely sturdy. http://thissixtieshouse.blogspot.com/2012/09/washing-machine-fire-pit.html
