I would say minimum of 4' x 4'. It depends on what you are using the landing for. Would your door open onto the landing? If so, increase the size to allow for the door swing and still be able to comfortably stand on the landing.
Hi Joyce. It all depends on where the car sits when driven into the carport. Expanding the landing and stairs will take up a goodly amount of space. Use tape and map it out in the carport of how big you want it. Then pull the car in. Reduce it from there. Just keep in mind that each step should be no less than 10 inches deep.
