Did I mention that they were spoiled?
have you considered a wire fence? It would be considerably less expensive than a block wall.
We have a cast iron fence now, but we wanted something with a little more privacy and a little higher.
The project we are planning is a privacy fence around our back yard. We are seeking to add to our privacy, security, and safety for our dogs, so a wire fence does not really work. Our choices are a wood fence (with a concrete footing) or a concrete block fence. It would be 6' high, with gates to allow entry for people and to park a small trailer. This would be the first step in a comprehensive project to make our back yard more amenable to having friends over for small parties. We need to do this fairly soon, since the present fence has proven very unsafe for the dogs (our female Great Dane has already gotten her collar hooked on the fence and nearly choked to death). We also think it could be hazardous for people as well. The yard is 80' across and 60' deep. The total length of the fence would be 244'.
