    Hello Dian,

Cinder blocks - Build an enclosure using them in a brick like fashion and fill with soil etc.

Planks - Hammer Pegs into the corners of your plot to be able to nail planks to and when complete fill with the soil.

Cinder blocks and Planks - place Cinder blocks in corners of plot and place timber planks inside them (using the Blocks to support the timber) Back -fill with soil.

( You could also use a combination of all ideas - Start with Block walls and use timber on top to use as coping and a soft seat if required)...

Dian, one of the funnest parts of gardening is the planning. Here is a tutorial for you. If you click on "explore projects" then type "raised garden beds" in the search box, you will find a number of ideas. Hope this helps. I have chosen one for you: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/-12278119

Hi Dian. My raised garden is made with planks. It's 6 feet by 18 feet. It is held with nails and L Brackets in all 4 corners. Before the soil went in, I laid weed fabric down and up the sides. I used a stapler to hold the weed fabric to the sides. Then I mixed equal parts of soil, sand, and manure. And I filled the garden with this mixture. Next plants go in. But be sure you won't have any more frosts before planting. Good luck Dian. I'm wishing you well and your new garden. Come back if you have any more questions.
