Here's a few good suggestions to get you started- you may also want to look into chain link, its prob the most budget friendly option for you!
How long is your run? You know you need to sink fence posts - ever done that? Rent a post hole auger. Just attach your horizontal boards to the fence posts in the pattern of your choice. I personally would use a cedar, more rot and disease resistent.
Go to your local home center and buy cedar fence pickets. They usually come in 6' lengths and are much cheaper than typical cedar boards. You can save quite a bit by using these instead. Then, just stagger them on your posts in whatever pattern you like.
Find something used on craigslist and be creative.
Chain link is out as it's not allowed in our neighborhood through the Architectural Committee, which is me. I am a Residential Architect and simply was seeking ideas to build a horizontal fence that was say not as expensensive as an Ipea fence. Thanks all for your input. Looking for more thoughts please?
