Ideas for building a shed/greenhouse?

What are some things I need to consider? I want it to look old. It needs to incorporate a little bit of stone to tie in with our barn & house. Would also like it to have a porch...
Thanks for any ideas/input you might have!!!

You can buy greenhouse structures on their own depending on how large you want it to be (you already know that!). I would get one that has the venting either on the roof, the sides, or both...Texas heat... plus add fans. And a sprinkling system. I mean like Harbor Freight, Menardā€™s, etc.(yes, go online).

Now, about the stone to match, hmmm, Iā€™m thinking you could sink posts in around the greenhouse and add plywood. Then cover with your matching stone/grout without compromising the greenhouse structure itself. You could make it as tall or low as you want. Maybe do it post side out and stain them for extra flair!

Good luck with this project-would like to see it when itā€™s all done! šŸ˜„

You need to consider what you're actually going to do in this structure. Potting mixes should be stored in containers that are rodent proof so put that on your list. You'll want both shelves and hanging space for equipment and tools. If it a 'cold frame' type of greenhouse shed, then remember to incorporate plenty of windows that don't face north and can be opened. And you'll probably need both a work surface along a wall and a work or plant table in the middle. Electricity would be fabulous as would running water and a sink. I wish I had that in mine.

As for the outside, cedar weathers great and bugs hate it. If you have leftovers from your home or barn construction, incorporate that around the base or as the railing of your porch. Don't forget a vintage wind chime and maybe a vintage style veggie sign. Have fun, that's the most important!
