measure the dimensions, either adjustable shelving on a suport system where the support is mounted on the wall, the shelf supports click into it or a free standing unit on wheels. Both from big box diys.
A narrow set of shelves could be put in that space, utility shelves are available at Home Depot or Lowes. Anoher way would be to stack crates on their side to put items in.
Get two uprights cut to fit in the opening the height and width, and then drill 2 holes for pins in about 1" in from each edge..... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_10?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=shelf+pins&sprefix=shelf+pins%2Caps%2C270&crid=1EDB9PMSNM4US&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ashelf+pins
drill your holes using a piece of peg board and a drill bit the diameter of your pins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqrWd3-Tc54
Get some shelving cut the depth of the opening and width of the space after putting in your two uprights. If you want white, you can buy melamine wood boards to use
I would get the dimensions H X W X Depth and see if I could find a reasonably priced bookcase that would fit in the space. The kind with pre-drilled holes for the shelves so you could adjust the shelves to different heights to accommodate different heights that you wish to store. Some even come with doors or doors on the bottom half. You could buy or have Home Depot cut additional shelves if you needed them. It would be easy to embellish and paint to match your kitchen colors, and could be attached to the studs in the wall or left freestanding. Walmart, Amazon and Target have a ton of bookcases and storage units to choose from. Good luck with your project.
I bought a $30 book shelf from Big Lotsand installed a sheer curtain panel on a cafe rod with rings for easy access. This is in an apartment.
If it was me..I would find me a nice old desk an redo it in a nice color that looked old and then put some shelves painted to match over it an you can put them around a pretty mirror in the center an maybe some fairy light's around it ..use the floating shelves to really be beautiful. ...OMG. That would be so pretty there when you decorate them ..now that would be a space that would be usefull..!!! Good luck with it.. Xoxo Christy. 💕💕💕
Put up shelving in this area. Ikea has some thing that will fit.
Build your own shelving with pipes and wood.
if it’s going to be temporary use the tallest cans as spacers. All you need is planks of wood.
I bought an aoimoir at goodwill for 4$
Cleaned it up and used it for my dishes. But it looks like a bookcase my suit the space better. Try goodwill for all kinds of furniture goodies for cheap!
