How can I add shelves to old plaster walls?
We have old player walls and I can hang anything on them screws just makes the plaster crumble and it leaves big holes and chunks fall out. What can I do to fix the holes already made. And what ideas do u have for shelves. I would like to put his rock collection out so he can display them.

Use no shrink drywall patching compound for the holes.

repair walls. consider using only free standing shelving that rests only on the floor. i would use stronger units than what i would currently need to allow for possible future use. attractive floor to ceiling boards at the front wound hold shelves from tipping forward. they need not be attached to the shelving to allow easy shelf adjustments as collections change. for display purposes, you may wish to research a low cos, flexible LED lighting system.
