Hello Joyce! I used a preprimed ship lap product from Home Depot. The brand was Arauco. It was easy to install, and it overlaps so all your seams are perfect and you can't see the wall in between the boards. It comes in different lengths so you can cut or not cut to fit. Once installed I used a dense foam roller to put on 2 coats of paint. I used my brad nailer to install once I had my studs marked on the wall. You want to nail into studs. I cut my lengths with my miter saw. It goes up quickly.
I used floor underlayment and cut it down to 8 inch strips, spaced with a nickel, then used a brad nailer to attach to the wall. You can read more about how I did this here:
