Learn how to clean a dryer vent with this easy tutorial using a drill brush attachement. Dirty dryer vents are one of the most common causes of house fires. Your dryer vent should be cleaned on a regular basis to help keep your clothes dryer running efficiently and prevent fires.

This brush attaches to your drill and is inserted up into the dryer vent. When you turn the drill on and pull it, it will pull out all the lint, hair and other gunk in the vent.

Watch this video and see exactly how to use the brush drill attachment.

Screw the pieces of the brush attachment together. it comes in several lengths and you can make it as long as you need to.

Insert the end of the brush into the drill and spin it to tighten it.

Remove the cover of the dryer vent off from the outside of your home. Insert the brush and feed the line up as far as it will go. Don’t force it.

Turn the drill on as you pull on it and the brush will scrape the sides of the vent and pull out all the lint and dirt with it.

Repeat as many times as necessary until the brush comes out clean. Repeat every couple of months as needed.
