Does anyone know how to get the smell out of a freezer .

It was turned off by mistake.

  • Wash the interior with vinegar, then rinse. Always keep a box of baking soda in each fridge and freezer compartment. Change monthly. Dump the old down the kitchen and bath drains to keep fresh too!

    My mother's freezer accidently became unplugged. By the time she discovered it e everything was spoiled and rotten. Phew! After she cleaned it out She put kitty litter in cardboard flats in the bottom of the freezer and closed the lid. It did the job.

    Ground coffee works too. Pour some on a paper towel and shut it up in there overnight.

    Put in a bowl of spent coffee grounds and leave for a day.

    After you empty the spoiled food, wash it with a deodorizer and disinfectant. We use a non-toxic one called Simple Green. It is great at removing odors of any kind when you clean with it. If it is real bad I use the concentrate straight. You can buy it in concentrate in Walmart auto/camping/boat section or the cleaning supplies at Menards for concentrate or spray bottles of it. I use it for ALL my cleaning needs.
