Front Loading washing machine that uses HE detergent

Hi Franny800, Unfortunately, this is a very common problem with front loader washers. It comes from several places in the washer that just don't self clean well. Janice posted what to do and it's important to do that on a regular basis.

Very hot water and clorax may work. Front loaders are notorious for this. Turn up your water heater so the water gets very hot in your washer. The outside drum gets covered with crud. Not sure how you can take all of that off without disassembling your washer.
