How can I get this clothes steamer clean?

I've tried using the vinegar and water solution with no success.
Have you tried using a paste made from baking soda and water to scrub it. Also, Barkeeper/s Friend might work.
why not try Lime Away?

I would definitely try LimeAway, since this appears to be a mineral buildup. Let it sit the maximum time before you wipe out, not rinse. Use a cloth or paper towels to wipe the barrel out. Then rinse, following directions carefully. Follow with a vinegar rinse. Once a week, run a cup of vinegar through the machine. Best wishes ☺️
White vinegar undiluted. Soak till build up is dissolved. If that fails maybe try CLR product.
