How to Clean Rusty Cast Iron Pans
I'm still using my husbands grandmothers fry pan that is very old. Only wash with soap and water/dry and season each time you use it. SOS or scrubby will get out rust. If its really stubborn use Bar Keeper Friend.
Start with baking soda, cover the bottom of the pan with it. Cover it with water, just the baking soda. Simmer on the stove for 1/2 hr let it cool, then wipe out.
Wash it good then oil and place in oven to reseason
