Is your lampshade stained and what is it made out of? Pleats, no pleats?
Start with vacuuming it to get the superficial dust off, then clean it with a clean paint brush in a downward motion
If the material can withstand water and is stained, you could put it into a tub of warm water with an oxygenated cleaner and a small amount of detergent (1 teaspoon of dish soap or laundry detergent). Let it soak for a few minutes.
Hi Carole, it depends on what you're lampshade is made from. If it's a fabric lampshade, this video tutorial will show you how - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsH0dK2o9zE
You can simply mix mild dishwashing liquid together with warm water. Use a clean microfiber cloth then dampen it with the solution. Clean your lampshade with it.
I use a small brush to brush away the dust.
It will depend on the style and type of cleaning. For general dusting, I use a microfiber dusting wand that is "fuzzy" so that it can get into crevices. My mother has a pleated lampshade and it does well on it. You can also use a lint roller if it is stuck on.
Depends on the material. If it is material a quick wipe down with a damp rag should do fine. Sweep first to remove dust in cracks and crevices.
Your cleaning method will depend on what the lampshade is made of. Vacuuming with an upholstery attachment may work well or a soft damp cloth or sponge.

How to clean expensive silk lampshades
I vacuum my lampshades. Sometimes I use a microfiber cloth to clean inside and out. I also take the lightbulbs out and dust them
Sometimes simply due to age and longtime exposure to heat and light, some lampshades become permanently discoloured with a yellowish tint, which looks dirty. Unfortunately, in these cases, it is not possible to clean the shade so that it looks brand new white again.
Hello. It may depend on the shade type. Some are more fragile than other. A hairdryer or hairy vacuum attachment might-be considered
I use a lint roller all over the lampshade and it does the trick!

Gently wipe with the grain with a wet wipe all over and let it dry!
