Try rubbing it with tinfoil or 1/4 cup baking soda mixed into a paste with hydrogen peroxide. Rub this on your coffee pot with your fingers and then use a scrubby.

I'd use a steel wool soap pad like Brillo or Walmart has one that says "shines aluminum" on it's box. They are all just about the same.
