Try using a 1/2 and 1/2 mixture of 91% isopropyl alcohol and white vinegar. I use it to clean everything in my kitchen. It’s my version of windex and it works great. If you have burnt on stains, I use a flat edge razor to srape Them off.
My glass top stove came with a creamy type cleaner. It has worked wonderfully. As always, ask the store where it was purchased for the best advice so as not to cause additional damage. I've used the razor blade routine to for really badly burned on food....like the boil-over from pasta which leaves a starchy substance....easily removed by scraping with a razor blade as nearly horizontal to the stove surface as possible.
Yes, there are many different brands available at even grocery stores that are designed to clean spills and burns from glass cook tops. Use paper towels or non-scratch soft sponges.
It's best to use just a dab of the above cleaners with a lot of water. Let it sit for several minutes to soften the stains. A very soft nylon scrubbing pad (NOT GREEN) can be used on the stains. If you use a razor blade, make sure there's a lot of water and use a new blade at a shallow angle. Once you get the stains off, wipe off the debris and polish the surface dry. You don't rinse the cream cleansers.
