What is the best way to clean a Keurig coffee maker to be sure, positive, there is not bacteria growing in the reserve?

Once a month or so - run white vinegar through it.
Run a bottle of vinegar Thru the water storage then and wait 15 minutes after it fills the heaters for the first time. Empty the whole vinegar container completely. Then fill the water container at least three times or until you no longer taste the vinegar. Been doing this every three months with no problems.

Use only distilled water you'll never have to clean it. Mine is eleven years old.
1/3 cup bleach 1 cup water
Mfg..recommends vinegar every few months..fill tank and run through like you do your coffee
