How can you get burned on grease and sugar off the stove? Think I have literally tried everything. Any advice?

Use a razor blade, gently sliding it over the mess. Keep it as flat to the stove surface ad possible. You don't want to slice into the top - just glide over it. Any remaining residue can be gently rubbed off with Barkeepers Friend. This has worked well for me, with no damage

Dawn dish detergent for grease. Follow with paste of baking soda and hot water. Smear on, let dry. Dampen area and scrub. Sugar should come off with very hot water. Use baking soda if you need a safe scrub.

thanks all for your suggestions for my smooth cooktop stove. believe it or not I have tried all of these ideas. Razor blade, every cooktop cleaners out there, pastes using baking soda, cream of tartar, Barkeepers Friend and many more! I think it is a total loss. the top is just black shiny with nothing there to scrape. Think I have taken the finish down to the original gray cooktop with these black shiny baked on spots.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Carol
