Hi Dee, I would turn it off and let it air out with the lid open for 24 hours before diving in. Then you can give it a real deep clean without ice build up being in the way.Helpful Reply -

get a batch of coolers, remove all food from freezer. un plug the freezer. put bath towels on the shelves to catch melting frost. leave the door open.. chain the door open if kids around..when warm, dry it out and clean/disinfect.dish soap works.. when clean, plug back into power, let it cool down, then restock.Helpful Reply -
