What can I do with these?

Cynthia H on Jun 21, 2014I live in Pennsylvania, so don't know if things are different there. Here, they have regular electronic recycle events (usually at a high school or other large area with a larger parking lot). Some of the electronics places like Best Buy take certain electronics (you have to call to find out). In fact, in the past I've found calling a local electronics store is very helpful, as they can tell you the best place to recycle in your area. Hope this helps.Helpful Reply

Dee Toomey on Jun 22, 2014I have seen where people take the insides out (don't know what they do with the insides) and use the "case" of the TV to make pet beds in them.Helpful Reply

Liliana Wells on Jun 23, 2014Best Buys is probably the first place to contact. Also, there are recycling centers that sometimes take electronics. I would also look on the internet for "where to recycle electronics". It's nice that you are taking the time to look for a solution to this ugly problem.Helpful Reply

Julie on Jun 23, 2014Best Buy use to take them but there could be a limit per person how many they would take. Call your local city office they can usually give you the nearest recycling place and they could be taken there. I doubt very much that they would pick up unless you live in a tiny town. Good luck!! That is disgusting that people just dump them like that!!!Helpful Reply

Barbara Turner on Jun 23, 2014Yeah, just gut them and get busy! But be careful where you take the guts because of "electronic run-off" and chemicals because you can be fined quite heavily for dumping them in an inappropriate way or place. Let us know what you do with them.Helpful Reply

Pamela Knott on Jun 23, 2014Our transfer station (recycle shop) will collect these for $50 each! That's why they are still laying there. That's why they never got picked up because the $50 needs to be paid in advance. This is not your problem. Call the City and tell them the problem or the owner of your complex.Helpful Reply

KathrynElizabeth Etier on Jun 23, 2014A lot of charities don't take them because they don't sell and take up to much counter space. Our local Habitat ReStore won't, and they sold--or tried to sell what they had for 2 for ten bucks. You could use them for big flower pots or even aquariums, paint them bright colors and turn them into toy boxes or storage, but because of the shape, I find them pretty much useless.Helpful Reply
