Sprinkle with vinegar and rinse out. I leave the door to my washer open to allow it to dry overnight.
i run mine with vinegar every other week, I wipe it out with peroxide and also leave the door ajar
You could run a small load of just water and Fabuloso or Pinesol (blue). Add a small out of bleech to the rinse water if desired. I'd suggest leaving the door open for drying and venting. Best of luck.
I run mine through the cleaning cycle once a week and I leave the door ajar, as well as the detergent drawer.
Thanks everyone for the ideas. I think I'll try all of them! Sure will make it smell better - and my clothes too!!
Maytag recommends Sunshine brand dishwasher powdered detergent. I found leaving my washer door ajar was the best way to keep it smelling fresh.
I run bleach in the 3 compartments in our drawer. Hot water wash and then leave it op. It's not pretty but to keep the smell down it has to be open. I also pull the drawer out a bit to let it dry better as well.
After it's clean, leave the door and the door where you put the detergent open after every wash. I also wipe around the gasket where water accumulates.
