How can I get rid of the rubbery bathmat smell?

Hello all . Iv got a lovely hardwearing bathmat. However.... the smell ov the rubber is awful! Any ideas how to rid that smell?. . Thank you.

I don't think there is anything you can do besides try to cover up the smell with a diffuser or scented candles or something.
Have you turned it over to clean it. My mother had one with the little suction cups and I helped her clean one day and that thing was full of mold and soap scum. Very rank. I poured bleach on it and scrubbed with soft scrub and scrub brush. Can clean with no oder.
