White vinegar will kill the mold spores. Contrary to popular thought, chlorine bleach does not. So first clean with vinegar. If stains remain, then you can clean with chlorine.
DO as Kathy posted
Heat up 1 cup of white vinegar, mix in about 1/4 cup of Dawn Premium. Not the dollar store kind, because it is too thin. When mixed, pour into a spray bottle and fill with water. Shake. Spray down the grout and let it sit overnight. In the morning rinse. If you have stubborn stains, spray again. Use this mixture a few times a week. It will keep your grout and tiles clean. Also works wonders in the toilet bowl to keep hard water stains at bay. Oh you only have to heat the vinegar one time when you add the Dawn.
ditto on follow Kathy
Spray bleach and let sit. But remove all items like shower curtain and rugs as it will stain if it hits those items. Wear old clothing. Leave window open. DO NOT mix any other cleaner with bleach. Make sure you rinse well . As bleach and any cleaner containing ammonia will make a poison gas. Let the bleach sit for at least 30minutes, and spray heavy. This should take off a lot of it. Rinse well. Then try cleanser and a toothbrush - an old one!
Hi Leilani - There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
