We want to redecorate our bathroom but first we need to get rid of surface mold discoloration. We've cleaned the mold away, but the stain remains.

Paint the ceiling with Kilz, it won't let the stain bleed through. I think they make a ceiling paint, if not you can paint over the kilz.

Kill the mold first and make sure there is not an active leak. Croninum kills mold.

Keep mold armor products on hand. The problem is the fact that it will come back so you will need to add some more ventilation. Then paint with kilz.

if you don't stop the mold by increasing air circulation, removing the excess moisture you will not be able to remove the stain it leaves. The mold will continue to regrow. Wiping the ceiling and walls down after using the shower/bath will help and leaving the main door open too. Kill the mold with vinegar or bleach depending on what surface is made of ;for pourous surfaces vinegar is best but bleach is then needed to remove staining it leaves good info.- https://moldpedia.com/mold-removal

  • There are several ways to get rid of mold, but most importantly, you need to address the root cause to keep it from returning. This article focuses on the bathroom, but is an overall great article that covers methods of how to remove mold, if bleach is safe to use, and how to prevent it from coming back. Hope this helps!
