How do I remove an embedded stain in a fiberglass tub?

When the contractors were doing tile work in the bathroom, they poured their dirty water into the tub and left this terrible ring around in the tub. I've tried everything including bleach, Bar Keepers friend, dish detergent and a lot of other things. Any ideas???

if the surface of the tub was compromised by use of abrasive cleansers to begin with, you may want to think about refinishing it; never use an abrasive cleanser on fiberglass -- it will 'scratch' the surface and leave it open to absorb stains/soap film/dirt

The dollar general has a product called the Works for fiberglass tub and shower. Works very well. Try it. Good luck

The works is amazing stuff. I’m sorry this happened to you tub. They should also be responsible for the damage. Did you tell them about it?

Yes, please tell them about their mess! You could try vina get or peroxide. I've read Hometalk posts about using those on bathtub stains. Try them individually, many cleaning solutions should NOT be combined.

Carolyn is correct, The Works is a good cleaninf product but like most commercial cleaners, use caution and ventilation!

    Good luck!
