Mix a solution of 1 part bleach to 2 parts water. Spray the area with the bleach solution and allow it to dry. Spray a second time and scrub with a brush. Then rinse thoroughly.

I used to saturate paper towels with vinegar and leave sitting. Then I discovered "wet & forget shower". It's a weekly no scrub cleaner that you spray to clean and prevent dirt & build up. As long as you don't have marble it is safe. Available at QVC, Lowe's, and walmart.com.

Hi Linda, Here's the best directions I found today. I think they were for a larger amount then you have , but will still work. I don't trust any commercial cleaners to be safe for you or the environment. I guess bleach only kills certain kinds of mold and only on the surface. White vinegar gets down into the membrane so it doesn't come back. Anyway, directions are quite long but easy: Make sure you are wearing protective gear, including a mask, goggles and gloves, to protect yourself from direct exposure to mold. (That's probably for bigger jobs).

    1. Pour plain, white distilled vinegar into a spray bottle. Because mold is such a resilient force, it's best not to dilute the vinegar. (You could tape down plastic putting old towels on top to protect your flooring or walls).
    2. Spray the vinegar directly onto the mold, and let it sit for at least an hour without rinsing or scrubbing so that the vinegar gets completely absorbed by the mold.
    3. If scrubbing is necessary, make a baking soda solution to use after the vinegar. Combine 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 cups of water in a spray bottle and shake until thoroughly mixed.
    4. Spray the baking soda solution directly onto the mold and vigorously scrub the area with a scrubbing brush or scouring pad. Safety tip: be sure to use protective gear while scrubbing to prevent direct contact with the mold.
    5. Rinse the area with clean, warm water.
    6. Spray the area again with either the vinegar or the baking soda solution and let the chemicals dry naturally to help kill any remaining mold and prevent regrowth. The strong smell of vinegar will naturally fade within a few hours.

I'm going to try this one in my shower and it's mostly around the bottom of the doors like yours. I will wear gloves for the scrubbing part. Good Luck!
