Whiten old black showerstall caulking??
I used a steam cleaner to clean my boyfriend's disgusting old tiled shower stall and it worked wonders melting off years of soap scrum, cleaning grout, but there's a lot of black old tile caulking (?) left that looks awful. Any ideas how to make the showerstall look new again?

you can't clean the caulk once it has mildewed and turned black you need to remove the caulk and clean the area and dry thoroughly then replace the caulking
Is the caulking black from mold, has it been painted or was that the intentional shade?
Hi Mandy, just remove it and recaulk, if you are worried about your skill, just using masking tape to frame the areas you are caulking, run the caulking then remove the tape after you finish and before it sets. Hope this helps
Remove it. If the steam cleaner didn't remove it, it's probably mold. After removing it, clean the area well, dry and recaulk it.
Hello, Strip out the Caulking and replace with either new or use a ceramic tile for the purpose or use a vinyl strip to do the job.
I definitely suggest to just remove it then recaulk it.
