How to Clean a Rug That Can’t Go in the Washer.

2 Materials

My family and I sat down to watch a movie when my dog got sick to his stomach and 🤮 all over the rug that can’t go in the washer.

To save your eyes, I cleaned up the puke spot first so you didn’t have to see it. Your welcome!

First you will want to lay your rug outside on either cement or somewhere that won’t make your rug messier (such as by dirt 😉)

I poured a little dawn dish soap all over the rug and especially where the mess was.

You can use any dish soap you have, but I prefer this one because I have had good luck with it.

Then I took my pressure washer and started spraying the areas that needed to be treated first.

Then once I had my spot treatments done, I went over the entire rug working from one end to the next.

Make sure to do this on a good weather day so that you can leave your rug to dry outside.

Once the rug is dried completely I take it back inside and vacuum it so that it is not crispy (if you ever hang dry your clothes you know what I am talking about)

hope this helps save some of your rugs from being thrown out.

Does anyone know how to vacuum a shag rug? My vacuum cleaner is a Shark, and I have to use the brush on my hands and knees to vacuum the rug because the strands stop the roller on my machine.

Taking them to do it yourself car wash, all you need. When through, roll it up, back of truck, patio sun, bam you’re done.

I operate by the theory that if cold water and air drying ruins it, only then it is truly ruined and I can throw it away. So far, I’ve never had to throw anything out that said it wasn’t supposed to be washed!
