DIY Citrus Cleaner Cheap & EcoFriendly

As many of you already know, saving citrus peels in a jar and using them to make a citrus cleaner is the easiest and cheapest DIY around. Citrus fruits contain d-limonene in the peel, a natural solvent that chemically reacts with oil to break it down. That’s why it’s so great to use in kitchen cleaners. It’s so easy to make, eco-friendly, and economical We just need to make an infusion of citrus peels to get the oil.
Save citrus peels. You can use lemon peels, orange peels, grapefruit peels, lime peels, or a mix of citrus.  Save peelings and put in a jar.
Fill a clean jar with citrus peelings and pour white vinegar up to the top of the jar. Put a lid on the jar. Citrus cleaner really costs so little to make, and you can get a bottle of white vinegar at Aldi for 79 cents (USA) and the peelings are free.

Put the jar in your pantry for about 2 weeks. Check to see if if has a citrusy smell, if not leave another week. The infusion should turn yellow. Strain with strainer, cheesecloth or filter.
Put in a clean spray bottle. I dilute my infusion 1:1 with water. This is especially effective for your kitchen; it can make your counters spotless clean and  remove all the grease from your cooking range. It also removes unpleasant scents from the fridge. Use it for cleaning windows. Most importantly,  enjoy the citrus fresh scent in your home and the savings.
