Be Your Own Dry Cleaner!

Unlike traffic lights and "do not disturb" signs, "dry clean only" labels can be second-guessed. After all, dry cleaning costs add up (to $1,500 a year, on average!) and 65 percent of the clothes taken to the cleaners can actually be machine washed. The dirty truth is that garment manufacturers are required to provide cleaning instructions and many choose the conservative approach.
