How can I clean black spots out of my rug?

A bottle of black ink I used dripped on my rug. There are 6 spots about the size of a dime.They are dried. Any idea how to remove them?I havent tried anything yet

Start by putting some hair spray on the ink. Slowly dab the stain until the ink comes to the surface then lightly rinse off with warm water.

How to remove ink stains
some of the newer inks may not come off with hair spray, a different solvent/ binder in some inks. some inks will clean will rubbing alcohol. others rug shampoo- gel inks.
This happened to us years ago. We tried everything. Amazingly, a paste made of baking soda and water, combined to the consistency of toothpaste worked wonders! Mix the paste and apply it deep into the carpet, all the way to the nap. Apply it liberally to the spot and walk away. Let it dry for several days. Put an upside down bowl or flowerpot over it if is in the way of foot traffic. Leave it for about a week. When it has had time to dry, run the vacuum over it. Hopefully the ink will have absorbed into the paste. Thinking back, I think I retreated the spot 2 or 3 times, but the ink faded drastically. Good luck.
