I accidently dumped a gallon of black used motor oil on some good clothes and towels. Washing in hot water with gobs of detergent just spread it all over. HELP!

Adding baking soda to the wash and then running the garment through again is another effective method for getting rid of oil or grease stains. If that annoying oil stain still hasn't budged, consider rubbing some corn starch directly into it and washing it yet again.

    Good luck!

just say good bye and replace. You can clean them , but dry heat will secure the oil into the fiber. They will not totally be restored.

If you have not dried the garment in the dryer... get a big bottle of Dawn dish soap and soak the stain.. without diluting.... make sure the dawn soaks thru the material...let it sit a least overnight.... rinse out the garment and check to see how much oil has been removed.... keep applying and soaking until the oil has all broken down and is gone... If the stain has been heat dried in... it might still work... but it might be too late.

Soda ash is what the oilfield workers use ! You might try a 2 litter of coke cola ! I have seen my dad do both .....also there is a really good cleaner you can buy at the automotive parts store , it’s in a purple bottle that looks like the shape of anti freeze , it’s a degreaser (I can not think of the name of it though ) we call it purple stuff.......sorry about not knowing the name but I’m sure the guys that work do know just describe it !!!!! And also You may soak in dawn dish soap !!

try using corn starch or baby powder to give the oil something to adhere to, then wash again with dish soap
