Very difficult once it gets into pad. Use products that kills the urine like Natures Miracle sold at pet stores. Pretreat and shampoo. If even a drop is left, pet will continue to go there.
A enzyme type cleaner that you can get in any pet department will work. I use white vinegar in a spray bottle. Just make sure whatever you use that you get it wet enough to go down as far as the urine did. Once whatever you use is dry (vinegar odor will be gone if you use vinegar). give it a sniff test to make sure it went down far enough and took in the whole area. It may take more than one application no matter what you use since carpet soaks up so much liquid, just not the size of the spot.
