How do I get blood out of towels?
Have several towels with old dried blood (they have not been washed)
Wash them with half the recommended amount of a low suds detergent. Add 2 cups of vinegar to the wash and in the rinse cup. Use felted wool dryer balls in the dryer. I haven't used fabric softener in ages.
Ditto Naomi but I'd use hotwater just becareful if they are coloered they don't bleed on each other may need to do several loads according to colors
Ad vinegar to rinse of wash machine add regular detergent also -cold or hot wash doesn’t matter
Use a liquid fabric softener instead of dryer sheets...dryer sheets have a sticky substance that not only sticks to your clothes but your dryers lint trap as well...and this sticky stuff is a source for most dryer fires according to a dryer repairman I know. For the liquid fabric softener, you can get a Downey ball at Walmart for less than $5.00...just fill to the line and close it up, toss in washer with clothes, it will pop open when it's supposed to and then there is no need to put any other fabric softener in your dryer...clothes will come out soft and clean smelling...use your favorite liquid fabric softener, it doesn't have to be Downey by any means.
After you fix the problem don't use fabric softener on towels!. Learned in a textiles class in college that softeners reduce the absorbency of the towel. Tumbling in the dryer should make them soft enough.
