    Where is the mold?

  • That is a hard one. Is it just surface mold or do you believe it goes down to the floorboard? If just light surface mold, I would use rubbing alcohol. If you think it goes further, rip out the carpet and start over. Mold is nothing to second guess.

Inspect the carpet. If the mold has reached the backing at the base of the carpet, it may take considerable effort to remove. Consider hiring a professional carpet cleaner in this scenario. If the mold has grown across a large portion of the backing, you may need to replace the carpet.

I would agree with professionally clean or remove it. In an enclosed space like an RV, mold is just not good for your health.

  • I would remove and replace the carpet. No one wants to be breathing in mold.

Mold can be a serious health hazard. Most RV's don't have a lot of carpet so replacing it shouldn't break the bank but a trip to the ER could.
