How do I remove candle wax and the color stain from fabric? With all the holiday festivities I have a two big spots of red wax on my dining table cloth runner. Pouring boiling water over and over the runner removed most of the wax. Blotting the stain with a paper towel moved only some of the red stain. Please help! Thank you!

I don't think it'll ever come out. I spilled wax down the wall and on a chair. I scraped as much wax off the chair as I could. I used a hair dryer which got more off, but the wax stain is still there.

    Good Luck!

Hi Rhonda. Take a old towel and use a iron. Put the towel over the wax and then iron that area. The iron will melt it and the towel will absorb it. Hopefully it will also pull the color out too. Good Luck!

Try putting it in the freezer, chip off wax then use an iron and greeseproof paper to remove more.

WARM IRON AND PAPER TOWELLS for melt & absorb wax. Scrape with plastic knife as much off as possible FIRST! Use fresh paper each treatment. Also, candle stores some grocery stores and other such places have WAX REMOVER- be careful- may take color out of fabric. After the melt process you can treat the GREASE SPOT with CORN STARCH to dry up grease- then gently wash-with dish soap (IVORY DISH WASHING LIQUID is best!)-- degreasees, and so forth ... those old home remedies work wonders. GOOD LUCK-- after this mess is "fixed" start using BATTERY POWERED candles- they make NO MESS and are just as effective for mood enhancing events! HAPPY NEW YEAR- 2019.
