How do you get ink out of cotton?
-
Michele | Thistledown Domestic Creations on Apr 08, 2015I'm assuming this is an article of clothing. I've gotten ink on work shirts before or on pants and I've had good luck using rubbing alcohol. Just put a tissue or paper towel under the stain and then put the rubbing alcohol on the ink. Gently take the paper and squeeze the ink area and it should transfer the ink to the towel. Hopefully this will remove the ink. If not, try repeating the process. Then launder the item. GOOD LUCK!Helpful Reply

Tami McCrackin on Apr 09, 2015I have had success with "Mean Green", a general purpose cleaner. Just spray it on the spot, let it sit a few minutes and then wash in hot water. Whatever you end up using, DO NOT put the item in the dryer until the spot is out! Once it goes through the dryer, it will never come out!Helpful Reply

Samof5 on Apr 09, 2015Saturate the spot with rubbing alcohol then rub with dawn dish washing liquid, rinse with cold water. My husband left a pen in a white dress shirt pocket. It didn't do anything to the load of whites until the dry cycle, then it exploded. This worked on the majority of the fabrics. It was time consuming since every item in the load was affected.Helpful Reply
