Try using peroxide! Get the carpet wet with peroxide and then blot it with a paper towel. Don't rub. That should do the trick. Good luck!

I have had really good luck removing blood with the original Oxyclean. Mix the powder in really hot water and squirt or blot onto spot. You have to do this repeatedly for several hours, but it takes the stain out without altering the background color as peroxide or ammonia would.

I have used hydrogen peroxide to clean blood from carpeting. I poured it on, let set, placed an old towel over the area and patted the area. Do not rub. Worked great. Seriously. p.s. I hope your dog is okay now.

I agree with the hydrogen peroxide. That always seems to work whether it's wet or dried up. Just soak it good and dab it up!
