I worked in a drycleaners for over 30 years as a spotter and presser. Ink on leather was a almost impossible to get out . It depended alot on what it is purse, coat, vest and so on. Ink will run and make more of a mess than to just leave it. The best thing to do is let a drycleaners try first. If you start putting stuff on the ink, than it makes it harder for a spotter to work on it. They have to work against all the stuff the customer used first to get to the ink spot. We have chemical we use for certain spots. And leather is drycleaned in oils not solvent.

If you don't have hairspray or rubbing alcohol handy and soap and water isn't doing the trick, try perfume, cologne, or nail polish remover (make sure it's acetone-based). Use a cotton swab to clean the ink, and then wipe it down with soap and water to prevent the alcohols from eating the leather. There are several youtube videos available, one of which shows how to use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser (well-soaked with water) to clean leather car upholstery.
